Chapter 4: An Untold Revelation.

"I can't believe you guy's are really here. What made you change your mind?" He was sill hyped that these stranger's were here. They looked at each other as if to deliberate whether they should tell him the truth.

"We just missed you, that's all." Said the girl.
"Oh, I've forgotten my manners. Family, this is Mia Laine." He gestured to me. "Mia, this is Sophie Cale." He gestured to the girl. "This is Sophie's brother, Bryant Cale" He slapped the other blonde's arm. "They are my cousin's. And this is my twin brother, Lexer. Also known as Lex." He playfully punched his brothers arm. That explains why they look so much alike but there were so many differences. Lucas' hair was more of a sandy brown colour than chocolate brown and his eye's were much brighter shade of blue, it was almost silver. Surprisingly, Lexer looked stronger than Lucas but it was probably because of how different each individual took to me.

"Hello." I said with a polite smile.

"Ohmigod. New student's!" The bimbo's were back. In the corner of my eye, I could swear I saw Lucas roll his eye's.

The class passed by in a blur. I kept staring at the four of them. I was mostly staring at Lexer and Bryant. Their lean, muscular physique could definitely take me down easily even if they attacked me one at a time, but I could definitely take Sophie if it came to it.

I was hoping that Lucas would offer to walk me to my next class but he didn't instead, he just said goodbye, his family members followed. That was good enough for me. I returned their greeting and walked out of the room. As usual, Heath was there waiting for me.

"What's new?" He asked. I giggled at his remark.
"My day's have become much brighter and much shorter at the same time."
"A translation will be much appreciated." He looked a little worried now.
"He knows me now. I spoke to him today, well technically he spoke to me first."
"What happened to our deal?" He looked appalled.
"He spoke to me first, what do you want me to do?! And, he isn't in an of our classes together, the deal didn't cover that." I said with more volume than I should have.
"Okay, okay... I'm sorry I asked. What did you mean by your day's have been made shorter?" He looked very worried and confused. I told him everything including the three bimbo's, he had a huge laugh about that. I rushed through everything because we had to get to our class. I had to stop when we reached our class. I promised to meet up with him after school and tell him everything.

School wasn't as long as it was yesterday, instead it passed rather swiftly, it was over before I knew it. I was supposed to wait for Heath by the school's gymnasium.

"Hi, Mia. What are you doing here." I heard a voice behind me enquire. I turned around quickly.
"Oh. Hey. I'm waiting for a friend. What about you?"
"I just finished gym class." He gestured to the gymnasium.
"I see. Then you should know Heath, he just finished gym class too, he should be in your class then."
"Em... No. I'm sorry. Who is he?" He said with a smile.

"Mia. Hi. Shall we go?" Heath's eye's kept flickering between Lucas and I. He seemed a little edgy and nervous.
"Hey, Heath. Lucas, meet-"
"I think that we should go now, Mia. We don't want to get caught in traffic now do we? No. So, let's go." Heath tugged my arm. Tugged is putting it gently, he basically wrenched me from where I stood. I could have been stuck under a boulder and he could have pulled me out from it with the strength he used. He was dragging me away whether I liked it or not. I almost tripped but Heath's hand was too strong and firm for that. With all the strength I had, I tried to stop but I was still moving. Tripping to be exact. At least I was moving slower now.

"Lucas I'm really sorry, I have to go now. I'll talk to you tomorrow in English kay?" I almost yelled. I hoped that he could hear me considering the distance between us.

"There is no school tomorrow. It's a Saturday." He said with a laugh.
"Oh... Right. I'll talk to you soon then." Then I was out the school door. "Woah!" I almost tripped again on the step. As I was being dragged away, I could see that his brother had joined him and he didn't look very happy.

When we reached Heath's car, he threw me into the passenger seat. "Ow." My knee hit the glove box. "Okay, is there something wrong?"

"Was it that obvious?"
"Well, no... But maybe the part when you violently dragged me down the school hallway with hundreds of students witnessing to it, was a little too much. Other than that, it was okay." Heath narrowed his eye's at me.

"Be serious please, Mia."
"Sorry. Seriously, what's wrong? Normally, you would tell me about it before you act weird."
"I don't want to talk about it. Anyway, you owe me a story. So, start talking."

***

Telling Heath what happened was difficult, he would always interrupt me with various questions and remarks. Some of them were incredibly irrelevant.

"...And when you were dragging me away, I could see Lexer beside Lucas. He was glaring at me. I have no idea what she told him to make him dislike me so much."
"Hmm... Well, honestly it has happened before, I guess she's just trying to protect her nephew from something that she thinks will happen again, but it still doesn't make it right. I think you should take her seriously, Mia."
"If you didn't gather enough from what I just told you, she doesn't age either. So, are you saying that I should stay away from him for the rest of my existence?" I could feel my face harden and my frown deepen. How could he suggest such an impossible conclusion to me?

He took in a deep breath. "Yes, that's what I am saying."
"I can't do it. I would rather be killed by my own kind than be killed by me." His expression completely changed, I was shocked with his expression. He look angry and frustrated.

"Mia, her assassins are already planned and ready. She is placing them right in front of you, in between Lucas and you. Do you really think that for one second they would let you get to know him or even spend more than a day with him? That they will wait for something to happen to actually take action? They wont' Mia." Tears started to roll down my face. Thank God that we were in my apartment.

Heath didn't look at my face until he finished speaking. His eyes widened and he sighed.

"I am really sorry, Mia. I wasn't thinking. I shouldn't have said that." He gently rubbed my arm in comfort. I shook my head stubbornly and pushed his hand away.

"It would be easier to be taken away from the pain than to live with it. It will be worth it." My voice was shaky. I wiped away my pouring tears with my sleeve and tried to toughen up but I had a feeling that it wasn't working. I refused to look at Heath.

"Hey, think of how Lucas would react to this if he remembers."
"He would admire my persistence."
"No, he would be very angry and would want you to live."
"What do you know about how Lucas will react?"
"I 'was' his best friend so I think that I would know a thing or two."
"So? What's your point?"
"Okay, okay, grumpy. Let's change the topic before you flood the house with your tears." I giggled.
"There is something that I have been meaning to ask you."
"Go ahead."
"Why were you so nervous around Lucas today? You were so eager to get a mile away from him." I saw Heath flinch.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes."
